The Stations of the Cross is a Christian devotion commemorating the passion and death of Jesus Christ. It allows the faithful to prayerfully walk with Jesus on his final journey. While traditionally prayed during Lent, it is a powerful meditation for any time of year.
This presentation uses the Scriptural Way of the Cross, established by Pope St. John Paul II in 1991. Each of these 14 moments is taken directly from the Gospel accounts.
For each station, reflect on the image and scripture. When you are ready to move on, press "Continue".
"I am deeply grieved, even to death; remain here, and stay awake with me." (Matthew 26:38)

They said, "If you are the Messiah, tell us." He replied, "If I tell you, you will not believe." (Luke 22:66-67)
And he went out and wept bitterly. (Matthew 26:75)
Pilate, wishing to satisfy the crowd... handed him over to be crucified. (Mark 15:15)
The soldiers wove a crown of thorns and put it on his head. (John 19:2)
Carrying the cross by himself, he went out to what is called The Place of the Skull. (John 19:17)
They compelled a passer-by... to carry his cross; it was Simon of Cyrene. (Mark 15:21)
"Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me, but weep for yourselves and for your children." (Luke 23:28)
"Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing." (Luke 23:34)
"Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in Paradise." (Luke 23:43)
"Woman, here is your son." Then he said to the disciple, "Here is your mother." (John 19:26-27)
"Father, into your hands I commend my spirit." (Luke 23:46)
He took it down, wrapped it in a linen cloth, and laid it in a rock-hewn tomb. (Luke 23:53)
Lord Jesus Christ, by your passion and death you have reconciled all people to you. May we who have reflected on these sacred mysteries follow in your footsteps and come to share in your victory. Amen.
